CITIC Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd., formerly known as Luoyang Mining Machinery Factory, is one of the 156 key projects built during the national "Fifth Five Year Plan" period. In 1993, it was merged into China CITIC Group Corporation and renamed as CITIC Heavy Machinery Company. In January 2008, CITIC Heavy Industry Machinery Co., Ltd. was restructured and established. In July 2012, the company's A-share stock was successfully listed and traded on the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

After 60 years of construction and development, CITIC Heavy Industry has become a national innovative enterprise and high-tech enterprise, the world's largest manufacturer of mining and cement equipment, one of the largest heavy machinery manufacturing enterprises in China, a low-speed heavy-duty gear processing base in China, and a large-scale casting, forging, and heat treatment center in China. We have four Chinese famous brand products, including the "Luokuang" brand large ball mill, large reducer, large roller press, and large cement rotary kiln. We can provide global customers with goods, engineering, and services in industries and fields such as mining, metallurgy, non-ferrous metals, building materials, electricity, energy conservation and environmental protection, electrical transmission and automation, and key basic components. CITIC Heavy Industry has been recognized as one of the first national level enterprise technology centers in China, ranking among the top 10 of 887 national level technology centers and winning the National Technology Center Achievement Award. Its affiliated Luoyang Mining Machinery Engineering Design and Research Institute is the largest comprehensive technology development and research institution for mining machinery in China, with Class A mechanical engineering design and engineering general contracting qualifications. It specializes in basic research and development design of national basic industrial technology equipment and complete process flow. It has a State Key Laboratory - "mine heavy equipment laboratory". The postdoctoral workstation has been completed and put into operation.
